Common Makeup Mistakes

Mistakes are a part of the human psyche. It is inevitable because humans aren’t perfect. At work and home we make mistakes and definitely when applying makeup too. Here are some common makeup mistakes we encounter everyday:
-    Square and over-drawn brows: It took us a while to get over the over-plucked brows, and even though the trend is fast moving towards bold brows, there is still the prevalence of over-drawn, square brows. Brows are meant to look like they grew out of our skin and not like they were put there artificially. Always remember: “they are sisters, not twins”

-    Obvious lip liner: after fighting the black lip liner battle, the next in line is the unblended lip liner and I must confess that the ombre trend is not helping matters as more and more people are trying to achieve the perfect two-tone lip. One thing I can assure you of though is that leaving the outermost lip liner unblended is not a step forward closer to the trend.

-    Concealer brows: every makeup enthusiast knows that concealer can be used to give the brows that perfect, clean look. However, this can very quickly go awry when the concealer is not blended properly leaving in its wake a white cast on that little brow bone. Even makeup artists have been known to go wrong here. Avoid the uncertainty of all this by using the same foundation used on the rest of the face to define the brows and set with the face powder.

-    Grey facial cast: in this era of liquid and gel foundations, finely milled powder and complexion adjusting skin bases, it is still common to find wrong foundation shades still in use. When purchasing a foundation or powder, one should ALWAYS match the jawline and the neck area. This should always be done in natural light and not indoors.
In keeping with the trends, accurate interpretation is needed to ensure that one’s best foot is always put forward.
